just finished my swap
I just finished putting in my ls/vtec(YAY), but its not all hooked back up (damnit). I still have to get a couple more hoses and some vacuum lines and of course the wiring mess. I am really concerned that the hood is going to hit the valve cover. Looks very high and when I called the folks at Hasport they told me "You will have no problem at all." So took a wood stick and placed it on each fender across the motor. It sits right on the valve cover. NOT to happy, considering this is my first swap. I am using the old style HAS kit. Has anyone ever had this occur to them? Recomendations?
I really haven't tried to close the hood yet but I guess we will see what happens. And yes I would like to get my hands on an SIR hood. Is there anyway to modify an OEM SIR hood? or would it just be easier to get the fiber images or VIS hood? let me know what you all think I should do if my usdm hood does not end up closing. thanks
