what did u guys do to NOT get a EVAP solenoid CEL??? i looked and looked at the vacuum diagram last night. i have a 92 civic OBD1 chipped P28 but running OBD2 motor. but since this is basically a track only car id like to not have that code pop up. any specific way i could route the vacuum lines. im eliminating the EVAP canister and pluggin most all the vacuum lines off the manifold. let me know what u guys did?

 

All the ECU does is look for the EVAP purge control solenoid. As long as it's plugged in, you won't get a CEL. It does not have to be connected to any vacuum lines.

 

You can remove the evap solenoid on obd 1 cars without getting a cel...

 

Would there be any benift to this though? Removing the canister and so on?

 

u remove the can the gas tank really doesnt have a way to vent. Youll have mad pressure when u open the fuel cap. I know, thats what happens on my car. ahaha Any suggestions tony1

 

You leave the vent line from the tank open. Very simple actually...
