Default $4,900 usd too much for an 89 crx si?

My friend is interested in buying a 1989 crx. He found an si with a jdm b16a, the car has 120k on the body and he put 5k on the motor since installed so approximately 35k miles. I looked at the car and it is super clean, clean interior and very clean exterior. The motor is all stock and they used hcp mounts it has ground control springs with tokico shocks. It also has 95 gsr's which are clean as well. The car rides really good, almost stock the car looks bone stock except lowered and on the rims, it still has all factory parts, orange turn signals and all original body parts. Anyone think this is too much for this car. Would he be getting ripped off if he payed this much. thanks for the help.

wayyyyy too much, they usually go for ~1500 then you can do your own b16 swap and end up spending ~1/2 of what this car cost

it sounds good, but i've seen em for a lot cheaper. i've seen a really nice civic si with a newer b16 (2nd gen) with a ton of goodies, and volk te37's (real deal) it ran high 13's, maybe low 14's and it was going for $5500

its a little too much money up here (in oregon) not sure where you're at...i'd probably pay $4k for it if its as clean as it sounds

check for rust!

Good luck finding an 89Si in good shape for 1,500. Even if you do you are still going to end up dropping around 2 grand on the B16 swap and that is if nothing goes wrong, you don't change the clutch or do any of the maintenance.

I think dusty is on target with a 4K price tag. That is probably what the car is worth maybe a little more if it really clean.

I would look around and see what comparable cars sell for. That will tell you better than us what the going price is in your area.

At its best with i/h/e around 14.4-14.6 in the 1/4 mile.

I'd offer $3500 and no more.

IMO.

that's kinda expensive but it kinda defeats the purpose of modding your own car unless your gonna turbo it. I got my 90 Si rex with 200K miles on it and it was super clean, one thing that was upgraded was a fluidyne radiator and the rest of the car was stock. I paid $2500, I'd look for a cheaper CRX then just start modding it your self if it were me

I bought mine wrecked for 200 bux, no swap yet, just little things I/E, and let me tell you seeing a car that YOU put together and sourced parts for is one of the greatest feelings EVER...IMO too much, mine has barely any rust(kansas weather sux), and it's got good paint now, and I STILL only have about 2k in it...I agree with the others...3500 no higher...

eh if your friend wants a fast car, i'd say 4g tops, if its in perfect condition
some people just dont want to build it themselves
they just want a cheap toy
