Default oil pumps

no luck in the tech forum can any one help.....

How can you till what oil pump you have. I have a LS vtec built up and they till me to make sure i have a GSR or Tpe R oil pump. How can i till what one i have, my block is a 90 LS if that helps any. What year GSR pump would I need to fit on there.

you'll have to take it apart to tell. the exterior housing looks the same for vtec and non vtec pumps. a vtec oil pump gear is thicker and im pretty sure it is also smaller then a ls gear.

On the outside the pumps look the same...except for the OBDII pumps they have the provision for the crank sensor. But on the inside the gears are totally different.

BTW....I have the actual size of the gears at the shop....Ill looki it up for you i lil later....IM me and ill send the sizes to you...
