Default Does this sound about right?

Its a crx si intake manifold, crx si ecu... d15b2
block off a 89 civic dx, d16y8 head off a 97 civic ex,
d15b2 pistons and rods approximately 11.5:1CR, crx si tranny In a civic hatch with no bolt on's, its a high 14 second motor and with intake/headers/exhaust, you should hit about 14.1 in a
hatch...

That is what the guy said he is sending me, does the CR for that setup sound right?? Also, what about the times, do they sound right also? I am supposed to be trading my H22 swap for this. Please let me know guys, since I have no idea about compression ratios on different swaps. Thanks guys.

I hope you're not trading straight across.

That high of compression ratio is possible depending on what head gasket he's running, and how much shaving has been done to the head.

as far as 1/4 mi times, I would never tell anyone "this engine will do xx.xx in your car" there are too many variables. Which model of hatch? How much does it weigh? How much do you weigh? How will you be engaging the VTEC? What tranny? What clutch? LSD or open diff? What tires? What suspension? What kind of driving experiance do you have?...... the list goes on......

That's a good start for a mini-me depending on who did the work, and how good of a job they did. I would've used the Y8 Intake mani myself, as well as a Z6 ECU and an OBD1 conversion.

I am trading that plus cash. I have an 89 STD, I weigh 170 lbs. I will be using an Si tranny with an open diff, 205/40/16 nitto nt450's on konig monsoon rims, stock suspension, and I have been drag racing for 8 years now, everything from stock cars to 9 second monsters so I would say that I can drive exceptionally well. I will most likely be using a set of slicks for the track eventually but not at first. I will also be upgrading to a Y8 intake once it gets here. The vtec is being engaged by an MSD RPM switch, and eventually I will be converting to OBD-1. But I would like to know if it is a reality with the setup I just gave without OBD-1, and slicks.

id dump the 1.5 block in favopr for 1.6..youll gain a few ponies..the compression could be that high...run high *** octane and tune it...like the other dude said to many varibles for times..i doubt it will run 14's though...maybe low 15's at best if n/a...the best time ive seen on a sohc that wasnt stroked was in a crx si with d16a6.. it ran like 15.1 n/a I would wait for the skunk2 intake for the d series and get a crane cam and get the valve springs by them as well and id say that high 14's could be possible
