ok once again. I have an 88 crx si with a stock engine. It wont start. I was driving and it just "DIED" on me. it bogged out. starter is fine, gas is fine, its getting fuel, distributor is fine. anything else ANYONE reccomends to check? someone said to check the main relay. im gonna check that tomorrow morning but besides that anything else? '' HELP ''

 

all i can say is that it is definately an electrical problem.

i guess it could be the main relay. are u sure u fixed ur dizzy?

i had the same problem, and it was just the rotor screw in the dizzy that broke and fell off.. just replace it and it should run fine.

Distributor is fine ? how did you check it ?

Are you getting spark from the plug wires ?
Is your Check engine light coming on when you turn the ignition key on.
Does your ECU show any codes
Timing belt ? Does it crank over fast ?
Have some one look in where the oil cap is and see if the top end is turning

Could be main relay but never seen one fail driving
Sounds more like distiributor or ignitor problem

if for instance there is no spark at the wires, would you lose comp when checkin it? waht would this problem be?

What the heck to you mean lose comp (compression) when checking what where when how ??

Compression is static it doesn't change, unless something is wrong.
Broken Timing belt etc....
You have to explain yourself more avscrx

 

I will check ALL of that stuff and then I will get back to you. I checked the fuses too. they all seem to be fine. and the distributor I took it off and I put another one on there and the car still didn't start. the dizzy I put on is fine cause its on my friends car right now. so im gonna check that other stuff.

 

but you haven't checked spark yet ?

It's probably your main relay.

Well PLEASE TEST DON'T GUESS

If the main relay is gone you will not have injector pulse or fuel psi, or spark.

So have someone check spark from a plug wire.
As well if the top end is spinning make sure T belt hasn't broken
