Need a new exhaust, does this look good to you?
I need to get a new exhaust for my 91 hatchback. I don't have much to spend but I still want good quality with a nice deep sound that isn't too loud. If it matters, I have a STD base model and I'm doing the MPFI fuel injection swap soon. I saw this dual exhaust conversion for a 4g civic on eBay, and I'm wondering if it's a good buy:

Have any of you bought anything from SSAutoChrome.com, or do any of you have a dual exhaust setup? I'd have to buy the midpipe separately, although my stock one is still in good shape so does it matter much? If this one would work and sound good, I'd probably cut a whole the same size on the other side of my stock bumper for it. Please give me your advice!

I bought a header from them cause I wanted something cheap since I was going to boost anyway. It was made pretty good. Nice welds and good size piping. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Typical fart can muffler
SSAutochrome makes things for people who want all show and no go. I made the mistake of buying one of their headers. They look pretty, and they are welded together sturdy, but the primarries aren't even equal length. No thought goes into their products performance wise, only "what's gonna look cool"
Also, it looks like that exhaust is made the same way the header is, mild steel with chrome plating. It won't last as long as real stainless would.
If you want a good performing exhaust for that kind of money, have a local muffler shop make you a custom exhaust. If you want a "Bling Blingin" chrome dual tip with a fart can sound, get that one.
edit: my bad, it accually says stainless. Not mild steel.

the old addage goes "you get what you pay for"
hope this helped

Just get a Borla muffler and have it welded on at a exhaust shop.
Sounds great works fine
Or get a walker dynomax overaxle pipe from there kit. and just hook the borla to that and have a tailpipe made
cheers

Just get a dynomax super turbo..there like only $40 for the muff..there way quiet....full aluminized..they wont rust...Im going that route since my tsudo is too loud not fart like just loud...the dynomaz ultra flo muff is nice.. i had one before really nice and looks stock and has a lil exhuast sound to it..no rasp
Wouldn't this be a extremely bad exhaust for you considering that it would probably disturb the amount of pressure and speed required for a small engine's exhaust output by adding additional piping?
DO NOT GET a dynomax muffler.
They are fine for noise and everything but they just rust out in a year or less.
I have put like 3 on my car so far.... get a Borla

You'd have to check to make sure I'm right, but I think you can get a Flowmaster muffler assembly for about the same price from Summit. If you need a performance B-pipe, I've got a very slightly used one for a CRX I would sell you.
Email me at jdvogel@netzero.net if you are interested.

I've bought a couple universal mufflers from them and I've been more than happy.
But the ones I've bought were all OBX mufflers. Which were full stainless steel and used a perforated tube wrapped with SS fiber and then fiberglass. This is how any good muffler is made.
So i'd check out there other auctions for an OBX setup that you like.

Um...I am not a fan personally of the dual exhaust on a 4cylinder......but its you, do what you want
isnt dual exhaust on a 1.6L useless unless you're running n/a?
you mean FI, and even then it still kinda looks silly

Is there any advantage to having the dual tips like Camshaft? How about a dual exhaust setup like the one I was asking about? Is there going to be any gain in performance that I wouldn't get from a normal exhaust?
I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but what exhaust can I get fairly cheaply that has a nice throaty sound (not too loud), is good performance-wise, and has a polished muffler (sounds lame, but I like the way it looks)...? Also, my midpipe is still in good shape, so would it even help to get a new one without changing the headers?

Anybody have any more advice? ...about the questions in my last post. If I don't get much of a response I'll probably just start a new thread.
i've never bought anything from ssautochrome.com, but the exhaust looks decent. not sure how performance or quality would be for you in the long run.
i'm thinking of getting an es universal installed on my crx with a welded tip. it looks like the pic below to give you an idea of my plans:

I went with dual tips because my body kit makes one tip look funny. Unless I went with a HUGE 5"+ tip. But that isn't my style.......
Single 2 1/4 pipe is fine for NA CRX
Every muffler has different internals etc...
