Default In-need of Info on the new Apex'I Rev/Speed Meter!

I was interested in buying the new Apex Rev/Speed meter and was wondering one thing about it. Certain web-sites say that the device can control or delete the governer on certain applications. I was wondering if this would work for my 97 Accord LX. Also does anyone else have this unit and how do you like it?

I heard people say it does. Apexi's website says it does also.

I've called them before and they said it doesn't

Yea for some reason there is no straight answer. Some people say yes and some people say no. Some web sites say yes and some web sites say no.

i've had it on my car for about 3 months now.. i like it a lot.. i have an EX so i didnt hook it up to where it removes the speed governer.. It took a while to install.. the quarter mile measure is pretty accurate also..the only complaint i have is that it reads in kilometers.. other that i love it

Why because you have an EX didn't you hook up where it removes the governer? So your saying since I have an LX that I can and that it would work?

I had my rev/speed meter installed yesterday at New Again (along with my VAFC) It does have an option to remove the speed limiter but I haven't been to the track to test it out yet. I'm still learning the neat tricks this little gadget is capable of. So far I am amazed. It does quarter mile times, power approximations (with the g sensor) and graphs and some more $#it I haven't had the time to toy around with because of the DAMN SNOW!!!!!! and by the way I have the ex.

The EX models don't have speed limiters anyway. Someone with an LX or DX will have to test it out.

I have one on mine and it did remove the speed gov, my roomoie has one too, and also it removed the speed gov. Im not sure if it makes a difference, but we both have h22 swaps, i dunno if it has to do with the ecu that is being used

To my knowledge the EX models do NOT have speed limiters. They have have a rev limiter but you will never hit that on the highway. I've had mine up to 135MPH. They are drag limited.

That still doesn't answer my question. Yes I have heard that the EX models do not have a governer but the LX models do. I just wanted to know if I bought the Rev/Speed meter if I could turn my governer off.

I've hit it on my 95 EX at about 136MPH. It's not like the rev limiter, It's just a short cutoff but at that speed it'll be good enough to bring you down by 3 or 4 mph. But you're right, it's right up there with the drag limit.
