Anyone ever have problems with 5-speed and hills?
Every day I go over alot of hills, and there is usually traffic that moves constantly, but extremely slow, kinda like stop and go traffic, but at a snails pace. This seems to me to be extremely hard on the clutch, and after 15 minutes or so when I get to the faster flow of traffic, the clutch starts to slip going uphill....
But it has never slipped on my when I race people, or drive aggressivly? It has been like this for a long time now...
I have a clutch sitting in the back of the hatch right now, waiting to be installed, I am just wondering if it needs to be installed right away or not.

Never had that problem, is that still your original clutch? I live in Rosemead, next to MP and I have never had that preblem but I got an ACT clutch...
if it is slipping after being used heavy is because your fuild is high in temperature and pressure. one thing to do is if you are going up hill very slowly just leave it in second gear and only press the clutch when stopping. otherwise jsut barely tap the gas and leave it in second gear.
there isn't very much hills in where i live, but there are steep railroad crossing roads i have to go over everyday, and i what i have found useful in "snail speed" uphill acceration is the use of the hand brake along with the clutch and gas
Well thats the problem, the clutch disk is 2 years old, and the clutch plate is about a year old, with ALOT of racing on it.
I never replaced the entire clutch, because when I was getting the LSD installed I didnt have enough to buy a new clutch, I was supposed to have an ACT clutch installed, but ATOMIC PERFORMANCE (bastards) charged me for an ACT clutch and stuck in an OEM clutch, it probably wasnt even a new OEM clutch, the guys said it looked old as hell...probably from the original car that the engine came out of.
Well I guess I'll be getting the clutch installed pretty soon then, I have an exedy sitting around waiting to be installed.
