Anyone know how to run VTEC wires?
I am swapping in a GS-R engine into my LS soon, but I am not 100% sure how to do the VTEC wires. Anyone with experience know which wires go where or anyone know where I can find the info?
are you swapping just the engine? your LS ecu won't know what to do with the infameous vtec signal... you'll need the ecu and wiring harness...
why bother unless your getting the whole swap..
I could be wrong... but i doubt it.

what year car is it.
you can swap out the motors, they will physically fit, and drive fine, the car will not vtec unless you put in the correct wiring. you will need to add at least 2 wires.
1.) vtec Solenoid
2.) vtec oil pressure.
depending on the year, you may need to add more. such as a knock sensor and 2nd O2. but can be done. you will need a GSR ecu tho...
i have a p-72 for sale if you need it... (GSR ecu)

I am trying to get a hold of an ECU... long story. The wiring harness I have heard I don't need, all I need to do is run the other wires. It is a 1995 OBD1 B18C1. I also heard all the VTEC engines have a knock sensor so I think I need that one. But the second O2 sensor isn't needed. The car I am swapping into is a 1995 LS. I have the engine, the ecu (soon), the gauges, the front sway bar (which is bigger than the LS's) and whatnot. The wiring harness is useless off the car. Someone stole the ECU while it was sitting out so they cut the harness in a number of locations.
I really would like to buy a good priced P72 OBD1 ECU. I have gotten ripped off for a P72 three times now
, so don't be offended if I am a little leery of someone trying to sell me one. I still can't use PM... freaking newbie user status
... so if you have one for sale email me.

All you need to do is run a wire for the knock sensor and then the 2 VTEC wires. you can use 18 guage wire. All you have to do is fine the pinouts and plug them in there. Then fin 2 plug from a VTEC solinoid and tap the wires into it. Not very hard if you have doen it before.
