Default crx

just got a 90 crx hf,
putting in a 95 ex motor, ... things i know....and things i don't

1. need a 88-91 si cable tranny
2. need a 88-91 si ecu
3. need 88-91 si hubs, for the axles to fit
4. as for VTEC to work, either hook it up to my shift lite on my tach, and aroud 5500rpm, for vtec engagmet, but the shift lite will stay on, from there to redline, not a big deal for me, but it might get annoying later on, or get an rpm swith.
as far as i know this is all i need??, if theres anything else, please let me know.

not sure but i think you need the ECU for the z6, or y8 (whatever you are using)

i think you're referring to the ex ecu, z6 or y8
to my knowledge the 95 ex ecu, won't work in the car, a 90 crx hf
i could use the hf ecu though, but i wouldn't rev past 5000 or wherever stops at
so i was told i need the 88-91 si (hatch or crx) ecu, so it will rev to 7200 or around there, but as for vtec, i need an rpm switch, or my shift lite idea, b/c the si ecu doesn't use vtec. am i correct on all of this?

c'mon people, i've been into hondas for about 5 years now, but the funny thing is, every civic i get, the older they are, 1st 97 ex cpe, 2nd 95 ex cpe, 3rd 92 dx hatch, now 90 crx hf, its kinda weird, i used to be into the show crap, 18's and bags, but as i've gotten older i guess i grew outta of that ****, now i just like performance and handling, so far the crx is the lightest one i've had, and its also gonna be the fastest and another cool thing is everything is cheaper for these cars, b16 swap 1500, ****, i can't imagine that little *** car with a b16..i know this is nothing new, but holy **** ***** these cars are light.

you can use the ecu to match the motor, you just need the harness too...

your gonna either need the si ecu or something better if your going for the performance aspect. you will also need si axles i believe. I recommend you send your hf ecu to zdyne and let them do the one wire conversion so the vtec can be wired easily!!! not sure what else

You have a couple of options of with the ecu. 1. You can use either a PM6 (88-91 Si) or a PG7 (88-89 integra). If you use these you will also need to use HF/Si distributor and OBD0 injectors. If you go this route you will need to use either a vtec controller or rpm switch 2. You can convert your car to OBD1 and use the P28 ecu (92-95 Si/EX). This would probably be the most beneficial choice performance wise. You can check with Blown90Hatch for a conversion harness. I think I saw him setting up a group buy for those harnesses.

As far as your axles you can use your HF axles no problem. Your best bet would be the 88-91 Si tranny. The only way you would have to change the axles is if you installed DX/Si hubs.

I hope this helps.

I would take Wronghand's advise and go the OBD-1 route. It's a little more expensive, but it will be the better choice, performance wise. I really felt the difference in performance up top, when I changed from a Si ecu to a sohcVtec ecu.

well the hf axles are shot, so i got some new ones for the ex, so i need to get the si hubs, for them to fit, i found an si tranny, and an si ecu, so i'm gonna hook it up that way for now, but as for the injectors, you say obd-0, could i use the hf injectors on the ex setup, and if so, if i need more fuel can't i use a fuel pressure regulator and just turn it up?
as far as converting it to obd-1, do sell a converter harness, thats a plug-n-play to the ex sohc vtec ecu, or do you know someone who makes them?
