I have an opportunity to take a 95 EX of my fathers hands for very cheap. It is in very good condition for the miles...220,000 so far. A few bumps and bruises here and there but looks and runs good. After bugging him for years, he is finally ready to buy the new Accord and he won't get much for a trade so he will sell it to me. It is currently an automatic and the motor is a little tired.

My question is, how much would it run me to have the motor swapped out (or rebuilt if it can be) and convert it to a 5 speed? And are there any other major parts I should be concerned with that may need to be replaced with that kind of milage? I love these cars...this will be my 3rd one. I am going to buy the car anyway but I really want the 5 speed above all. I have big plans but they are probably bigger than my dollars. Thanks

 

to swap in a 5sp and a lower mileage F22b1 motor I would guess around $2,500 installed.

 

Really? That sounds pretty good. Anyone know of a reputable shop that does this? I live in FL but can always bring it somewhere else up the coast if it is worth it.

 

theres a DIY shop in your garage, id highly reccomend that.

 

I honestly would not know where to begin. Tinkering with exhaust, intake, springs...ok...but swapping an auto for a stick and having to add the clutch etc... way over my head...
