check ingine light came on the other day when i was criusing off the freeway and keeping the RPM's around 5k. the scaner said the problem was in the Vtec system and said the screen might be plug up. how safe do you think it is to drive my car around until i get it fixed. the apex vafc seems to still be working fine(vti comes on and then vto comes on and Vtec ingauges). anyone else every get this code? any suggestions on how to fix it. i check the oil, its fine. what to do?

 

what do you think a dealer would charge to fix it.

 

i'm thinking that if the ecu it telling the motor to be in vtec but the vafc is holding it back until its ready, then the ecu is not seeing the motor in vtec and thinking that the vtec is not working.
