Ok guys, I know I did say I would have a picture intense thread about the JDM front end installation. But I think I have lost those pictures. They were on a diskette, but I can not find them for the life of me.
One problem we ran into in the installation of the Passenger side HID Headlight w/ ballast attached... was that there is a major clearance problem with the 94-97 spec ABS motor and bracket.
So we unbolted everything, and got the ABS motor (Modulator) up in the air so we could remove the mounting bracket underneath it. We were hoping this would alone make enough clearance. But it didn't. So we also had to cut off part of a bolt that points in the direction of the HID ballast. Everything seemed to fit but way to snugly. So we made a cushion the we-todd-did method: took a hocky puck and cut part of it off the long way, and sandwiched in between the ABS Modulator and the HID ballast. But then thinking about if the ABS were to kick in, then it might make a violent jumping around action because of it not being bolted down. So we ended up removing the fuse for the ABS.
Well, now we located a 98+ spec ABS motor (Modulator) and wonder what we need to do to make this swap happen. We have the Modulator in our posession. So now we are thinking about whether or not we will need to get all the 98+ spec ABS lines, or if the existing lines in the 94 GSR will work fine with the 98+ spec Modulator? So if the existing ABS lines will suffice, how do we go about bending these without destroying them?
Please, Please, Please... only constructive and helpful replies would be appreciated GREATLY.
Thanks guys!
Ryan
p.s. I decided to post in ITR forum, since there is the chance an 97 ITR could have swapped to 98+ ABS system. And posted link in the TECH forum.
