Good deal or not?
I am talking to a guy about buying his 95 GS-R integra. The car seems to be in good shape, but it doesn't have an engine or transmition. He wants 1,500 for the car, and since he lives so far away it will cost about 1k to ship to me. Is this worth it? We close the deal tomorrow. Any help/advice would be appreciated.
well, the car normally sells for 6000 or so. new gsr engine would be like 4 grand with transmission. you could try that if you want... but dont take my word for it

, i think 2500 is a good deal for a frame,(considering its in good conditon) all u need to do is spend 3-4 grand on a used C5 engine w/ tranny. I think its a good deal
6k for a car w/ no engine nor tranny

Either way, if it was me, i wouldn't buy anything, shell or not without first inspecting it in person. I don't kno the market value of the shell so couldn't help ya there... but be smart about ur investment.
Not really worth it. Except the ITR's, all Integra frames are indentical, so you might as well find an LS or RS frame to avoid possibly being bumped into the GSR insurance bracket.
Plus, 1K shipping is pretty hefty for a 2500 dollar purchase; and it'd be nice if you got to see the frame in person.

Yes they've come way down in price. There's a dealer '96 GSR on eBay right this second w/ a buy now price of $6200. I have/had a guy set to sell me his '94 GSR in OH this weekend for $4250. The car has 170k miles, but so what, a fairly cheap/easy rebuild and it's good as new, and with more compression & displacement when I'd be through. It's for my old lady though, so we've "settled" on a '94 LS sedan for $3200. These cars are being thrown into the budget bin.

For you not reading more carefully or comprehending his post.Anyhow, $1500 for a clean shell is not a bad price.

Yeah not bad, but I'd prefer an LS to build on. You just know you'll have trouble convincing an insurance croo...er agent that your car wasn't a rocket even if you put a stock D15 in there. I had an agent try to explain to me that my mother's Saturn SC is a sports car, and therefore should cost more.
Ok, I decided not to buy it. The better Idea would be to just go ahead and get an LS or RS with a motor that has a lot of miles, and drive it arround till I get money for a swap. Cuz that would be the worst, having a car that I couldn't drive. And that would only cost more money to tow the car to the swap shop! Thanks for everyones suggestions.
