Just wondering what I would need, and how I would hook up an OEM Type R oil cooler to my 98 gsr, and is it worth it? thx

Why do you need an oil cooler, ITR's come with one. Not sure your car would need another one.

if you want an oil cooler go with an aftermarket option.

B&M makes a cheap one. A little nicer up the list is the Jackson Racing (and still okay priced).

I've got a donut piece ("cooler") that I was going to use but never did (and will sell). It's the part that goes in between the oil filter and the block. #11

Isn't the stock oil cooler just an heat exchanger?

*You might need to use the water line from a 94 GSR or any ITR. This water line is the tube that runs from the thermostat to the drivers side of the block, along the rear of the block, just above the oil filter. This water line has fittings to attach the tubes to and from the oil cooler.

Please, I already know about it, and I contacted the buyer. I just asked him a few questions, waiting for him to get back to me, so I can send him the money.

I think he means the heat exchanger which is located by the oilfilter. It is not a true oil cooler, it is more to help warm up the oil faster from the coolant.

It cools the oil a bit too when the oil is hotter than the coolant. It's better than nothing.....

Need a little more help guys.
I checked the link that was posted above.

Says I need the following parts 15560-PT6-003 - bolt to screw into block to hold it into the engine
19505-PR3-000 - water pipe(has extra nipple for water line)
19423-PR3-000 - Oil Cooler line (OUT)
19422-PR3-000 - Oil Cooler line (IN)
11108-PR3-010 - nipple that goes into the block

Here are some sites from acuraautomotiveparts.org

Type R
http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...R+HOSE+%284%29

GSR
http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...R+HOSE+%283%29

However it shows an oil cooler for the gsr..

How would I connect all this to my gsr?

According to the gsr pic, http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...SENSOR+%282%29
Thats for the GSR, the hose number 9 has more holes,...thats the one I guess is on my gsr.

but if it is..what would be connected to it right now?

The case for the thermostat on the type R looks like it has another nipple on it..
http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...SENSOR+%283%29

Would That be required?

Anyone got a picture of their Type Rs oil cooler? all connected?

Not worried about price.
If money isn't a concern and you want to lower oil temperatures, this might help as well. Not sure of it's effectiveness, though, since I've never personally tried it.
