i have ls/vtec and i still have the b16 trans but i can barely drive on the highway the rpms are at like 4800 at only 79 mph should i get itr or gsr. i have search and could find anything

 

Try putting an LS fifth gear into your current tranny.

 

Depends on what you want to pay for it.

I've seen used....

LS tranny's for $600-$800
GSR tranny's for $1000-$1200

I've seen new....

ITR tranny's for $2000

 

would ls tran slow me down in 1/4

 

a few tenths, yeah. JUst throw in the LS 5th gear in the B16 tranny. Best acceleration and best cruising

 

roughly how much would it cost for labor ad where can i find just an ls fifth gear

 

find a junk LS tranny for about 50-100 bucks. Labor should run anywhere between 50 bucks(good friend) to 150( you bring in tranny and mechanic does the gear change), to 400 bucks( expensive mechanic to drop tranny and all.
