how do you tell if you got the real deal spoon mirrors?

just got some used and it didnt say spoon any where(obviously not on the outside i knew that, but any signs on how you can tell?)

I believe there was some sort of defect on the real ones but I heard that awhile ago and forgot what it was, anybody have a clue?

 

does it say honda on the inside? and what this about the spoon logo being etched on the corner of the mirror?

 

Fake ones have blue tinting, and real ones don't.

plastic shell: same chit. cheap plastic. new spoon mirrors are made of CF now. funny because there have been CF fakies for quit some time now. im guessing the cf qualities will be diff but on the plastic ones? same chit.

fitment: from what ive observed, same chit.

weight: seems to be the same, dont see how it could be so much different.

lense: on real spoon mirrors its a normal colored mirror. it has a rubber ring around the glass.older models have clear non convex glass, spoon now offers mirrors with the blue convex glass as well. the fake ones all have the blue convex glass from what ive seen.

sight: as quoted from marty. "vision mirrors offer no vision" i think the old ones with the non convex glass suck. the convex glass is awesome, but i think someone needs to design some for left hand drive, as the passenger side its just a total waste. lol. while like im all bob said, the driver side allows u to see like every damn lane in back of you, lol.

worth paying 300+ for "real" ones? not me but thats just my opinion. anyone whos ever had a real one in person/in hand will know that 300 for such flimsy delicate plastic on a 300 dollar product is kinda . but people will buy what they want so to each is own.

i got the fake ones and they look just like the real ones. you cant tell the difference. I like the blue tinted mirror too.

 

I also have the replica and agree w/ the blue tint. Has a nice dim to it to protect us from those tall suv's!

 

i got the real ones back in the day b4 the replicas came out. i think 300 was a bit much to pay, but i think if i had the fakies id always want the real ones. no matter how close to the real thing they are

 

thats true for something, but in this case i just personally cant see it that way. ive got friends with real and fake, both cheaply made flimsy *** plastic (yes even the real ones are junk for 300 to me).

 

anyone that buys the real ones has a problem, the fake ones will save u about 200 something bucks,anyone that hates on the fake ones is to JDM for me, lol
