i did a search and to my understanding the crx doors differ in that:

88-89 have frame mounted belts

90-91 have door mounted belts

i have an 89 si with door mounts belts? is that possible?

 

You have pillar mounted or frame as you call them. I mean **** how hard is it to look if they are on the door or not on the door. If not maybe CRX was different, but I know for Hatch that is true.

i think it was only the 88's that had em on the pillar...

 

Well my '89 Hatch has pillar. So I think we have established...

Pillar:
88-89 Hatch, 88 CRX
Door:
90-91 Hatch, 89-91 CRX

??

 

For the CRX, ALL 88's had the pillar mount belts. In 89, the HF had pillar belts while all others went to door belts. 90-91 are all door belts. This is only for USDM

I guess it depends on when your car was built.....I have an HF with a build date of 4/89..I have frame mounts and I have also come across Si's with the same build time frame with both ( frame and door)...I guess it all depends on where in the production run your car was at when the changeover was made.

 

my 89 built in like 9/88 has door belts my 88 std hatch had frame belts
