How snug is the antenna? I installed mine, and it is a little loose. I have tightened it, but I am still able to move the base a little. I also had to put the silver ring back in between the antenna and base. It sits better now, but still not very tight.

Thanks,

Ian

There is a thread that explains how to make it snug. You have to continue to lower the threaded piece the antenna goes into until it is snug. This will not ever be snug enough to resist the strength of your hand it you try to MAKE it move. But will be strong enough to keep water out.

That antenna was great until I realized I got close to no reception

sure looks sexy though

I have one with the "kit" lying around in the garage, anyone want it?

Alex, just add home stereo wire to the under side of the wantenna kit. Mine picks up just fine.

Yes the antenna looks good (Better reception?) also the touch up paint should work like a charm with something like that. Scratches are always better than dents (at least ones as small as you made) both suck though

reception is worse, equivalent to then the oem mast is stuck down (part of the reason i did swap).
its kinda loose now, i'll get back to tighten it this weekend, and i'm buying a whole pile of copper wire to help boost the reception.

You should have did it patiently. I took my time and nothing happened. My antenna placement is a little angled and goes with the stock wing.

Yes it does.. it depends on what you're using it on. It's not magic that's for sure..

I'd give it a try on that scratch.. it might help..
