Default So what can I do with an HF motor to make it faster???

Just curious,

Currently I am putting together a swap for my '91 CRX HF, but in the meantime, what can I do to the stock motor to make it atleast a little faster, I am hoping to break the 60 MPH mark, heh,

I don't mind spending a little money, i just want to make this thing as fast as an HF can be until i do the swap

So far i have put a couple little things on the motor, such as CAI and exhaust, I coudln't possible see how the motor breathed through a tube that could be clogged with a ping pong ball

Someone mentioned that i could put a D16Z6 head on the motor, but I read that it would not work

Any help would be great

D16z head is doable, but compression would be pretty high.
Plus, for the price of the head/headgastket/headbolts/timing belt/etc, i would just save for the swap.

If it was my car, i would get an intake manifold, throttle body, and exhaust manifold from an SI, if you can find one in the u-pull-it yard.
Thats about all i would want to invest. Your other option is to just deal with the lack of power until you can afford to swap.

You can't swap a head on the HF unless you change the pistons. The HF is an 8 valve engine, meaning the pistons only have valve reliefs for the 8 valves.

didn't we already discuss this and find that it is doable?

It's doable if you chance the pistons. Otherwise the valves will collide into the pistons if you use the HF internals.
