Default question about 4th gens, help plz :)

im about to purchase a 91 Civic EX sedan.

i was going to go D16Z6 turbo, but ive recently been offered an 87 CRX with a B18A1 swap for a very good price.

will i be able to use the mounts i have between both cars to swap the B18A1 into the sedan, and also will i be able to swap the suspension (for the rear brakes) onto the sedan?

if not a direct bolt on, what would i need to do these two things?

any help is appreciated

what mounts for what motor for what car? and i dont think so...1st gen crx is quite a bit different.

again, no i dont think so. why would you want to put 87 crx drums on your Ex?

keep the 87 with the b18a...sounds like more fun!

The mounts that the '87 are using for the B series wont work in the sedan. Im assuming the previous owner used an aftermarket mount kit for a B series. The kits between 84-87 and 88-91 are very different.

If your asking if the rear brakes will work from the '87 to the '91 then no they wont. The rear susp. on 84-87's is interchangeable between 86-89 Integras only due to the dead axle. You can swap rear disks from the '86-89 teg to the '84-87 civics but none of that susp. (front or rear) is interchangeable between 88-91.

I'd keep the B18A in the '87. Those cars with B series motors haul ***!

Its a lot more work to build a hybrid 3rd gen VS. a 4th gen, so I would not consider swapping out the b18 unless the there was something wrong with the car
