like shorti said above ^, it depends on things like driver, mods, tires, location, blah blah blah. do the work and post some of your numbers!

this is the best answer you will recieve. i dont understand why people ask this question. if it were answerable, nobody would even bother racing. think about it this way. an ls/vtec with gs-r head will basically be a high-compression 1.9 liter dohc vtec engine. a b16a is a 1.6 liter regular compression dohc vtec engine. you do the math.

I don't know times, but I would go with the ls/vtec if you are debating between the two.

ls/vtec you are looking at low 14's maybe high 13's(of course the driver/track/setup...)
with the b16 mid 14's just with the stock motor...
sound about right?(anyone)

if it was up to me just get the b16, cheaper, great aftermarket support and honda's realiability! plus you always have to worry with the frankis if the shop does a good job and you are putting your motor on someone's hands... trust
just my 2c.

I agree... i have seen these times at the track with ls/vtec.... I have seen from low 14's to high 12's depending on their set up... an almost stock ls/vtec ran a 14.2 on streets with a crx hf....
As for the first gen b16a i have seen them run very low 15's (15.0-15.3), althoug many people say they can run high 14's, i still havent seen anyone run those times with a b16a in a crx... but im sure there is people out there running those times, i just havent seen them....

I have a mostly stock D16A6, with just intake and exhaust. Last fall in about 50 degree weather, strong headwind(about 20 mph), I ran 16.1 with 180k on the motor, bald radials, and my first time at the track, I'm looking at getting either a different Intake Mani, or an MSD ignition, hopefully this spring, with new tires, and some other basic reliability maintenance I'll run in the mid-high 15's, like everyone else said, it's all about the driver, track conditions, and location.

hey man, its skreech from the dalles

with a straight ls swap, you could probably hit a low 15 up here. eddie's ls was running 15.8 and 15.9, but its a big heavy integra. you have a lot less weight.
