What am I looking for:

I have a 99 Civic Si in mind right now. Basically that is what I am looking for next a 99-00 Civic Si Black. I want another Honda and just need a cheaper car right now.

I would prefer stock or close to it but it does not have to be. No wrecks or salvage title.

why did you buy the car, fi you didnt want it? You would have been better off just buying a used Si, instead of the Jetta.....

Teg44 at the time I really thought I could get away from Honda with the Turbo but I just can't I have driven nothing but Honda for the last 11-12 years and can't wait to get back. Plus cheaper is better.

I sure do miss my last Si though.

Hey Cosworth

Yea you know if I only would have thought about it when I sold the Spoon wheels off the car longer and went ahead and got the 5-lug from you I would be so much happier now. But I am going to try and get back to where I was with another Si someday. We will see. I know I am crazy but out of all the cars that Si is the only one I regret letting go to this day.

Thanks for the bump

Yeah, I just got into an argument with my girlfriednd about her getting a Jetta over an RSX type S or Integra GS-R. The fact of the matter is that Jetta's shift like crap, and they are in no compariosn whatsoever to a Honda tranny..... I drove my friends jetta, and the crappy shifting takes all the fun away from driving a car.......

Hey Teg44

Have not noticed any problems with shifting since getting the Jetta still breaking in the car though. It was a huge jump compared to the 4 Door Civic Ex I was driving at the time Turbo etc. I just really miss the Civic Si's and Type-R's in my past. Rather than doing any mods I figure be best to just get back to what I know.

Might be able to work out a trade of some kind.

I am looking for a 99-00 Civic Si black only. Clear title, no wrecks, need to be near by so I can see the car condition etc.

Will consider other 99-00 Civic Coupe Hybrid's but must be legit swaps with papers and only White or Black paint considered. Either car has to have AC.

Maybe someone looking to go Euro can help me get my Honda back.

Thanks for the bump Trey...

I need a coupe for more room in the back seat though. If I could sell the Jetta to get John's car and you were looking for a home for the Spoon's I might be interested though for sure.

You know anyone looking to get a Jetta for a good deal?

Default A GSR is better than a Civic how's about a trade?

Let me know if you want to trade for a 1997 Red GSR. With Trade and $10K

I am in Roswell, GA.

My wife is expecting, we have to get a 4-door. Maybe she'll compromise with me.

I don't have pics on the internet anywhere and I don't want to give out my personal website. Can email you some poor pics from yesterday.

RoswellGSR

I appreciate the offer but I am really looking for a Civic Coupe only. I had an Integra Type-R before my last Civic Si and there is just more room since it is not a hatch. Also the Insurance is cheaper on the Civic as well. I noticed you posted where that guy is looking for a GSR so if that works out let me know for sure if you are interested in the Jetta.

Default Thanks!

I have to agree with you. My wife's Maxima is a 2001 and its insurance is less than a 97 Integra. It is ridiculous.

I'll keep you in mind for the Jetta.

I am no street racer, so it wasn't a big surprise that I just barely squeaked by a Turbo Bug the other day. I was pretty impressed. It appeared to pull pretty hard.

Yea the 2001 Type-R was over twice the price of a 2001 V6 Accord & close to twice the cost of my last Si and the Jetta as well. Only car I have looked at cheaper than the Accord is DX Civic hatch.

The Jetta is even cheaper than a 4 door Civic Ex on insurance for me. Insurance said VW is safer and not likely to be stolen.

Please do keep me in mind on the Jetta for sure.

1.8t Jetta, Gti, Bug's etc. do pull really strong. I compare mine to a V6 Accord with 5-speed to tell you the truth.

I read on MSN Autos that there is a turbo lag, is it more than the power curve on a GSR?

I am really just bumping you.

I guess it just really depends on how you drive. To me I don't even notice the lag with 5-speed. I am thinking it could be bad with an auto 1.8t possibly.

I appreciate the bump for sure.

Thanks

That looks like a pretty smooth powerband to me. But, dude! 50 HP by just putting in a diff chip, that is unbelievable. Then, Torque is all on the low end.

Why didn't VW just put the other chip in?

Am I just not following that?

Would be nice for sure of WV to put in the chip. They have actually increased the output over the past few years from 150 hp stock to 180 hp not sure on the tq. So they are tuning, chip companies just take it to the max I guess. I know a few guys locally that have chipped 1.8t's didn't get the chance to ride in one though.

I have the chip in my dub and dyno'd 193 hp and 245tq to the wheels. OEM is 180hp and 173 tq at the crank. You do the math. At the tq on the green line is peak at 20 psi and it tapers off to 15psi as the rmps go up to prevent detonation. Wanna go for a ride? You'll sell the Civic after. :D

APR knows what they are doing.
