Default S2k Steering wheel help, cruise control related.

Wasup, I've had my s2k wheel on my car for about a year now and I have the type V wheel which doesn't have cruise control buttons. I am contemplating adding them cause i drive to and from college and it's a 2 hour trip. Anyways, before i spend the money of buying the switch and such I want to make sure that it will be compatible. I know there are a few others on here with the wheel and i searched but no mention ever of cruise control. Anyways any info you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If anything like the CTR wheel the plug for cruise control should still be in the wheel. Plug that in make sure it works ok and them figure out where to mount it.

thanks man but that's not quite what i'm looking for. The switch will mount to the wheel just like a regular s2k wheel, that is not the problem i am just wanting to make sure the plug is the same and that the wiring is the same. I don't want to buy the parts and find out it doesn't work. Later

Cool, did you change the wiring harness with this wheel when it was installed. Just curious.

what wiring harness are you talking bout? I just bolted up the wheel and connected the horn. There is still one more plug sitting there for cruise but i need to buy the cruise button. I just want to make sure it will work before i dish out the 50 bucks.

No, i still need the set/accel/decel/resume buttons that are mounted on the Steering wheel. My wheel didn't come with these buttons and i'm thinking of adding them. This is the what i am wondering about, whether these buttons will be compatible with the civic cruise system and if the plug from these buttons is the same as the plug coming from the civic. Thanks

Yes the airbag works cause there is no srs light and the horn and airbag are the same plug and the horn works. I thought about mounting the civic buttons but the bracketry it different.

just a thought... why not mount the cruise control somewhere else. maybe the center console... or somewhere on the dash. that way it wont bother with the s2k wheel...

I thought about doing this, but how would i go about running the wires that are in the steering column somewhere else? I just thought this was easiest cause it is OEM. I just have to buy a 10 dollar steering wheel panel from honda and a 40 dollar switch assembly. later

if it'll look stock and not rigged onto the s2k wheel then go for it. but thats true.... running wires would be a bitch... but then again, possible...

good luck...

ok I don't think you guys are getting what i am trying to ask. here are some pictures to help.
MY STEERING WHEEL

notice no resume/accel/decel buttons.

Here is a regular S2k wheel.

Notice the two buttons? I am going to add these with oem parts from the dealer, i already priced it and it will be 50 bucks. I just want to make sure that this will be compatible with the Civic Cruise Control system. Later

I would say yes, but you should go ahead and ask one of the techs @ honda, asking if all controls for that are univ. on honda. I would think so but you never know...

you can always return the buttons if they don't fit. do you really need them that much? that's 50 bucks you could spend on something else. if the plug is different you could always order a s2k plug too.

50 bucks is pretty cheap to make a long commute easier.

ya, but you don't need the buttons to use the cruise control. you still have the button on the dash. the buttons on the wheel are for adjusting your speed and ****.

can you run a wire behind the fuse panel, and through the center console and set the buttons up next to the hand brake?? id think that be sick as hell. but sorry for this off topic post, i don't know if the civic system would work with your wheel.

Why wouldn't you need the buttons on the wheel? How do you set your speed? All the button on the dash does is turn the system on/off, you can't set the cruise control without the wheel controls.

I'd ask the people at honda to print a diagram for your car and for the s2000 and see if they are the same.

Damn, i remember when you got that wheel, i love it.
