list of stuff for first start up of motor.....
ok well the time has come and im gonna have to go out probably tomorow and pick up a few items for the motor to finally start that thing up. i did couple searches. here is my list..
this is all before tune up. im gonna get it started, tow it to meineke and put my exhaust on. and then get an appt. to get it tuned.
The motor is a LS/vtec with ITR head and 11.5CR 84mm pistons.
1. honda MTF for tranny and LSD.
2. NGK plugs for ITR head (would i need to gap them for 11.5 CR)
3. decent brand oil 10w30
4. oil filter. maybe go with that orange box at autozone. forgot the name.
5. normal radiator fluid , unless i should put something special in there.
6. 93 octane gas with some octane booster
anything else i should add. im fairly new to the VTEC and high Compression ratio scene so if there anything i need to know. feel free. i posted this so i can get a run down of what i need to get going. i know that i need to change my oil after break in too. about 1000 miles. maybe one change before then.
thanx- feel free to comment, good or bad.

might wanna go with 5w-30 oil...just my .02 good job though...is it fast?
P.S. **** octane booster...it burns up your piston rings OEM filter owns FRAM! NO FRAM!

make sure when u start it u turn it over a couple of times with out the spark plugs on, get the oil going around.
Radiator fluid should be 50-50. I just use the 50-50 mix you buy at the auto store. And a water wetter.
Gapping the plugs I'm not too sure about. I've heard that the more power you make, and the higher your compression, the smaller the gap you need. I'd probably just leave the gap at stock recommendation, and go with a colder plug. "1" heat range lower than stock might be a good decision. Maybe someone else has some insight on that..
