Turbo the F23A5 or H22
What do you guys think is a better idea do to my 6th generation Accord that I will be getting?? The turbo would be an F-Max...the only problem with that is an engine rebuild, which I'd like to do for safety and strength, will be hard to get becuase of the rarity of the F23A5 SOHC DX Accord engine.
An H22 swap would be about the same price as a turbo kit and would offer much more different choices in mods..
Anyone with a turbo'd 6g accord (which i know there aren't many at all) can you put some input on how the car feels, drives, etc.

Me too I'd go for H22 NA definately. More reliability, and the free-revvin H22. Plus the exclusiveness, not too many 6th gens done swaps yet.
Ugh man sorry I messed up my vote, clicked on the wrong one...

drive the car off a cliff cause the cars gonna go to **** after you start swappin motors. just leave it and drive it.
try to find a first 3rd gen H22A1, those blocks will handle alot of boost
well i have a turbo f22 but now i wanna get a h22 , all motor seems more appealing now, i wanna be able to rev to 8k i mean i can if i build but im loosing interest in boost

the nonVTEC motor is running 8.8:1 CR, so you can be safe, exept for the open deck & motor strength. so just run @ 10lbs maximum, any higher calls for an engine build. high revving isn't all that important, it's getting the power to the tyres. boost is better, more than NA.
agreed. Low compression and long gear ratios of the accords are 2 best things for turbo. Low compression resists detonation and long gear ratios make u stay in boost longer. I am definitely planning on boosting via fmax at 10lbs.
I'd say go with the H22 swap - better platform supported by the aftermarket. F-series engine mods are not the plentyful or supported by the aftermarket. You may be lucky enough to find what you want - but expect to pay though the roof.

i know who manufactures pistons, rods, valves, valve springs, shims and titanium retainers right off the top of my head along with other supporting mods necessary to support such power levels....
turbo f-series power
i know any of the major companies will do it custom, just have to pay a little more $.
valve springs, shims and titanium retainers
Who would this be....I've yet to find them
