89 civic dx swap?

I own an 89 civic dx eventually I would like to swap out the motor with a zc or d16y8 I was wondering what I would have to do to drop either one of the motors in. thanks.
well theres get the motor zc will drop right in and some wire`n to change new ecu theirs lot`s of info out there just do some looking. i can`t say if it`s EZ cuz i don`t know what you know about motor swaping.. i did mine in a 88 dx with some crap that wouldn`t work out but i got it up and run`n...fyi .. look at puting a new clucth in at the swap .i didn`t and the clutch lasted aprox 2weeks you gotta think from 89 hp to 130 hp will my clutch like that

there's a ton of info about this on this site, and you can perform this swap to your current engine so when your ready to put a new engine in, it'll just drop right in.

i'm about to do a similar swap, except in my crx dx with a d16y7. however, i was considering the zc or d16y8 awhile back. you'll have to convert to mpfi. find yourself another cable tranny, or you can even use your dx tranny. people prefer the si from what i've read on. there are quite a few threads on this subject, so a search would help you better.

If you're racing, or just running around town, get an Si tranny, but be prepared to be cruzing at around 4k rpm @ 80mph in 5th gear.
