Guys with daily driven cars with roll cages?
Just curious who here has a 6pt or higher in their daily driven cars? I was curious becuase i will prob have to put a cage in soon to be able to run my car at the tracks, the thing is i went to this shop yesterday and he let me sit in a few of the supras and dsms with the 6pts in em and im having second thoughts now , its seems like it might be too much of a headache to jump over that bar everytime to get in or out of the car? do you guys just get used to it or what? it also seems like if you need to get out in an emergency , it might be a bitch ?
whats your guys thoughts that have em ?

A pain? No way, its fun!
Then your passenger has to do the same, has to bolt in with the 5 point harness, and reaches for the radio but finds only a few gauges. You laugh and toss them some ear plugs and they look at you with a puzzled look.
"What are these for?"
"Just wait"
They shrug and mention that its cold, reaching for the temp gauge. A confused look crosses their face as they slide the climate control across without any force and realize nothing is happening.
"No heat, no blower"
You pull off and they scramble to get the ear plugs in as your tires howl, open wastegate roars, blow off valve screeches, and the very minimal remaining interior rattles.
Then you lay into the gas, they scramble for an oh-**** bar, and you realize yes, it is all worth it.

any quality cage installer would be able to add a swing out/removable bar for only an extra $150-200 or so. take it out completely when you don't need it. but if for some reason you don't have that option, you get used to it. i was 275 lbs and 6'2" when i had my car.
We have installed many many 6pts. for people running street cars. We offer many options to the side bars to make it easier for people to get in and out of there car. Options: Multibent bars to allow for more clearance/ removable bars /and swing outs. Depending on the car and size of person depends on which option would be best for you. It seems that we install more 6pts on DSM's than anything else cause(no offense) it seems they can get to the 11's alot faster and easier than a Honda/Acura can and still be street driven. Maybe you need to look into a shop that is dedicated to the import scene only.
