You probably have heard this before, but I'd rather **** you off than see you get hurt. Be very careful with that bike. If you haven't taken your MSF, sign up for it and don't take your bike out until you complete the course. ALWAYS wear your FULL gear when you get on the bike, whether is only down the block or out riding twisties. BTW, that's a very nice bike!

Nice looking bike, now keep the rubber side down and enjoy the spring, summer and fall.

Wow, your first bike is new!? Not a very samrt decision. Just don't kill yourself whenever you drop it, not jinxing you, it's just bound to happen sooner or later.

Great looking bike.

Like something said up top, make sure you take the course, it teaches you very important things when riding. Hope you have ridden before, because that's a very powerful bike. It's in the supersport category.

Have fun and be safe.

Damn, nice to know so many of you care about me. I think I'm going cry.(J/K) Don't worry I already have a license and I have been riding for a little over a year, on hand me down/starter bikes. Both CBR 600's(90' and 97'). This R6 just happens to be the first bike that I have purchased on my own. I would have bought my first bike over a year ago, but I read threads on this board and came to the conclusion that it would be best for me to start off on something used and small. Thanks for the props on the bike.

If you said you've been riding hand me downs, then you're okay..

take it easy for a while and learn how to handle your bike, and try to resist getting in over your head until you are comfortable with it... and by the way nice bike.

I'll take the wheels off your hands after you toss it - assuming they're not taco'd of course.

seriously though, as long as you don't think with your dick or succumb to peer pressure, you'll be fine.

Not trying to knock everyone but, my first bike was a 99 R6. I didn't take any riding courses either. I never wrecked or laid the bike down. I didn't wear my gear everytime I got on it either. USE YOUR COMMON SENSE, and don't try to show off and ****. Nevertheless, I would strongly suggest taking everyone advice because I have seen some dirty bike wrecks.

Again, I'm not trying ot knock anyones advice, I just don't want him to freak out on everyones comments.

Have fun on your new toy.

true but like I said before, there's only so much that good riding kills and common sense can do- doesn't really help out when a soccer mom talking on her cell phone in her SUV runs a red light and t-bones you in an intersection. a lot of people say that riding is gambling with your life- however if you're wearing gear, you increase the odds of surviving when you go down.

Very true. Like I previously said I am not disagreeing with anyone about taking the safety courses and using proper gear. I just don't want him to freak out.

Very good choice, ride it hard, get used to it, and then take a high performance riding school and learn how to scratch your knee at 70mph!!!
