S2000 clutch feeling or release/engage pressure required ?
hi !
my brother is currently in the market for a used S2000. he went to check one out and the price is quite competitive (honda dealer, car has full bodykit)...anyway, we had civics and accord and honda clutches always have been easy. the S2000 he went to see had hard pedal to push for the clutch. (2000 year model with 50 000km) he did not check another one out because they are quite rare in here and he doesn't have much time.
is this normal ? (i guess the pressure plate has more pressure in the springs than the ones in civic/teggies/accords, but he said it was almost like a 88 Saab hard clutch pedal). i didn't go with him though, but he said it was quite hard (he drove a used 91 NSX last year but only for 30 minutes and he doesn't really remember how much harder the clutch was).
so basically (after writing all this), my question is : how hard do you guys have to push on your pedal to engage/release your clutch on your S2000 ? (compared to civic/teg/accord)... a bit harder ? quite harder ? quite a lot harder ?!!
thanks for your impressions/feedback

with an engine that has 240 hp , ofcourse the clutch pedal should be more firm than your stock int , civ, accord..........
or maybe the privious owner upgrade the clutch and pressure plate.......

They have a very good solid feel to them, I can't drive my insight and then jump into the S without a major readjustment to the amount of pressure that is needed for the clutch, it should not be as hard as say a older 911 but it should be very very firm.
Having said that with 50,000 km's or about 30,000 miles the clutch should still be in very good shape if the previous owner had any restraint at all.

Thats interesting. My clutch is a hell of a lot lighter than my friends 95 prelude. His feels like a leg press compared to mine. A stock one should feel pretty light. My guess would be that it isn't stock.
yep it's quite stiff... i have a 94 hybrid b18c1 and a s2k ... the s2k is twice as stiff that's normal i even tried out two other ones b4 i bought mine for 23k * im lucky* heheh it was a misprint on the ad so that guy couldnt back down on the deal
