Does an ECU from a 92 civic CX work on an 89 crx si. I just replaced the motor on the crx and it ran fine for 30 mins and the car just died. After checking everything the ignitor on the distributor was not working, So I got it replaced with a new one from honda.. also got a new cap, oem spark plugs and new spark plug wires. I got home today put everything toghter.. and still nothing. Starter just turns the motor but it does not crank. Checked this tread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=368932 for the ecu codes and my ecu displayed a solid light. I take it the ecu fried and took the distributor with it? Does anybody know if the ecu from that 92 civic cx 1.5l will work on my crx, to test it out?

 

No. The 92 has an OBDI ECU as opposed to the CRX OBD 0.
