Thinking of selling my car, which would you choose?
I am really digging the RAV-4, I have been seeing alot of them lately and I am really starting to like them. I would love to have a WRX, but I think they are out of my price range. And the CR-V is ok, I like but its not my favorite.
Your going from a GSR to a SUV? Plan on being bored as hell. People with shitty cars would kill for your GSR that your going to sell for some weak *** SUV? Why? Dont do it.

Im getting tired of people revving on me, staring at me, worrying about if my car is going to be there the next day.
And another thing is my car has some problems, I cant go on long trips unless about 5 quarts of OIL with me, because it burns 2 quarts in 200 miles. I was told that I need a new engine cause the piston rings might be bad.
I am only thinking of it, if I can get a good deal on a WRX, I would do it, but I also have to look at insurance, and it will be expensive.

Do you still have a warranty?
Have you done a compression/leakdown test to see what the problem is? It may be a weekend downtime with a Helms manual, some tools and new piston rings...

Your dealership should be able to perform the test for you, or any good mechanic in the area...shouldnt be too expensive at all.

If you don't have the $ for the WRX you should look at the Outback Sport. It's the same chassis as the WRX wagon. Of course it's not as fast but will still stomp the rav4 and crv. You can also use WRX aftermarket or stock suspension components for upgrades. It has the 2.5 liter that was in the old 2.5RS.
needing new piston rings does not equate to needing a new motor....im sure a bunch of people on here would be willing to help you out with some piston ring help, especially if it means keeping your gsr
(wish i could help, but i really dont have hands-on block experience)

oh yea, i dont think "getting revved on" is a big factor in this decision...or else you wouldnt be lookin at the scooby.

Its like I want to get away from it, but I just cant!
I say go get yourself a beater and fix up your 'teg. Piston Rings defniately don't involve a whole new motor. It shouldn't be too hard to fix
I just did an insurance quote thru http://www.kbb.com and the WRX is cheaper than a RAV4.
