does anyone have a jdm d15b sohc vtec motor in their cars? if so, post a pic. thanks in advance.

 

i have a jdm d15 but its not vtec

i have a d15b in my car and the place where the vtec cylinoid is supposed to be has that orange liquid gasket stuff put in it's place. non vtec? how much HP does it have? where can i find info on it?

pretty cool lil motor, has intake manafold that looks similar to DX size, not y8 or z6 sized... spark plugs are on exaust side, um just picture a DX motor pretty much just with the spark plugs on the other side
if it is an obd-2 d15b vtec, it will just say honda on the valvecover and u will see 2 vtec solenoids. Ive seen the d15b vtec with a silver non-painted valvecover and with a black valve cover, both obd-1 versions, ive never seen the obd-2 version
They actually come with powersteering pumps and ac pumps
such a small motor heh

 

im not sure which motor mine has then, it just says d15, no numbers after

 

my engine code reads D15b. and on HMotorsOnline.com it says that my motor is a JDM 92-95 civic Vti sohc vtec longblock

 

i was interested in this motor too, any more info anyone?

I converted to 0bd1 cause I want to boost soon, swap is pretty straight forward except for mine cause i keept the hydrolic trany.

here is mine with boost....and yes jdm d15b have vtec im not sure if all but mine does....

 

those look exactly like my 93 zc vtec

i'll have to post some pics of it sometime...no one thinks there was ever a zc vtec

 

that's exactly what my engine code reads. it says D15b. so do i have a sohc vtec block with a stock non vtec head? im so confused!!!!

 

check if it has a vtec solenoid...if so then yeah its vtec

there were also older d15b motors that were non-vtec so keep that in mind too

 

Thats a bad lil engine...130 HP from a 1.5 liter...I'd like to have one of those or a ZC...does the D15 VTEC bolt up directly...what ECU are you using?
