Default Master Cylinder, broke a brake line

I was taking my mc off for replacement and one of the small metal tubes that carry brake fluid that is screwed into the side of the mc was stripped, so I had to cut the tube. My question is how do I fix this do I have to replace the whole tube or can I attach a new section to the cut tube. How do I do it? 89 crx si

go get a fitting and a flare tool, just practise with the tool, because it takes a 2nd try to get it right usually.
