i got my type r lip painted and now that i try to put it on it wont fit right. So i had to cut the sides off and it fits but the sides kinda stick out, is that how it suppose to be? anyone else have the type r lip on their EG, pics will help. thanks.

u cut the sides?!? arent they supposed to bolt onto inside of the wheel well?!

 

yeah but it didn't reach in there, there was like half inch of space so i cut it to make the lip flush against the bumper but, the bottom portion of the lip flares out. it looks good from the front but from the side, it looks like *** Can i see some pics of other EGs with this lip.

 

theres a guy in here that just got his EG repained...he made a thread about it too... hes got pics of it up.

Yes! i want to know how it looks on someone elses hatch, its clearly stated up top.
if it were to fit perfect, why would i post? well maybe to show but thats not the case here.

they told you it will fit?
and you didnt try to fit it before painting it?
anyway, my lip fit perfect as far as the side goes..
I hope you still have the piece you cut out..
that where i put my bolt and nut to keep it in place.

Not that it matters now, but I have the Type R lip and SUPPOSED to be about an inch short. If you have two people put it on, one can attach the first side and push the lip to the other side and it will just barely clip on, but once its on its a tight fit and it wont come off.

 

is that type R lip made specifically for the EG? because i i did the same thing, i used my friend's EK type R lip, just 2 see how it looks, but that was all! i suggest if that lip's not made for the EG, then just get 1 made for our car.

 

yeah it was made for the hatch. Ohh well i'll do something and get it on there. Thanks for the pics.
