Should I mod my dc 4-2-1 header to 2.5 col or buy a type r 4-2-1 w/ 2.5 collector.
Well I have a 4-2-1 dc header and I've been looking for a type r 4-2-1 header w/ a 2.5 inch collector. I've been looking for a few months now, but with no luck. I'm thinking about just going to import builders and get my dc 4-2-1 header moded to a 2.5 inch collector. Should I do this, or should I just keep on looking for a type r. Which one would be better. Is the ports for the type r better then the dc one. What should I do? Thanks

well there isnt an itr 4-2-1 header with a 2.5" collector...so you wont find it. try looking for a jdm 4-1. and i wouldnt even try to mod that dc header to a 2.5" collector...sell it, and buy a jdm header if you want a 2.5" collector...also, there is a fujitsobo 2.5" 4-2-1 for sale right now in classifieds..so you might wanna check that out. hth.

yeah, I checked out that header but it's 600!! That's way out of my ball park. I don't want a 4-1 header cause of the lack of midrange power that I will be losing. Any other suggestions?

the header that came on type Rs (jdm) in 96 were 4-2-1..i dont know if they had a 2.5 collector but i think it did. if not, get a 4to1 dc jdm header...there is a groupbuy right now for them, 350 shipped for stainless steel..cant beat that. i dont think its a good idea to put a 2.5 collector onto that header(4-2-1DC) w/ those tiny primaries.

I've seen them for sale, it's a two piece design w/ a 2.5 inch collector.

bringing this one back... I have the DC 4-2-1 and was thinking about doing the same thing. Has anyone done this with this header?

I heard some nice gains from Jeff. But I would personally get a jg header w/ the ib mod. Check the dyno gains on importreview.com.
