Where to find 10lb flywheel
like the topic says, i see a lot of 8.5 or 8.8 and 12 pound flywheels, ive only heard one in the 10's mentioned once or twice, I can't seem to find one, does anyone know who sells them? thanks
I think thats because the 8lb'ers are race only, and the 12's are very streetable. Mine is too light, its a Fidenza unit, but it lets the car die sometimes when I clutch and let off the gas quickly.

well jonny... looks like you're pussying out again with what you're putting on your car.
you drove my car with the fidanze and said ti was easy to drive. don't you remember?
that's why i say, get the fidanza... but if you want to get a 10 lb one... zex has a 10 pounder... but it's chromoly... now let me tell you about chromoly vs aluminum
When Aluminum gets too hot from driving at extended high RPM, it will warp (this only under extreme conditions). As a result, you need to get a new flywheel.
when Chromoly gets too hot from driving at extended high RPM, it will split and shatter into about 100 pieces (this is onl,y under extreme conditions). As a result, you will die because the pieces will shatter your tranny case, most likely cut your brake lines, split your radiator, destroy your clutch, puncture your oil pan, etc etc. Since you were at a high rpm (most like in 3rd or 4th gear because of the high stress loads), you will be traveling at 60-90 mph... consider yourself a rollercoster without brakes.
what do you want? a lightweigh flywheel that could possibly keep you from dying, while at the same time being faster tha nthe chromoly one, or do you want one thats for pussies (ie 10 or 12 lbs vs 7) that can utlimatly total your car and possibly your life?
the choice is your jon. Honestly i'd say go with fidanza, because i KNOW you can handel it and i don't want my friend to die, let alone lose a member of the teg club

The Fidanza is TOTALLY streetable...the myths about flywheels being too light are just that....myths!

ok im convinced on getting a lighter one if eveyrone else can manage it, but is there a difference in say the ACT for 250 or less and the fidanza for 300?
ps. bobby whats ur SN?

thanks for the anolgy mr. wizard, but I highly doubt your friend will be doing any N1 endurance races ( EXTREME CASES AHEM) which would cause this kind of situation to happen.
actually you, the wizard's faithful assistant, brought up a good point, i am going to correct myself. It's not the spirited driving that breaks it, but the high clamping force of an upgraded clutch, for instance a XTa6 (xtreme pressure plate, 6 puck disc).
apparently it's a cold day in hell, because i stand corrected
.P.S. no need for name calling
