ITR or SKunk stage 1s
Cam gears are a good idea when installing any upgraded cams on your car.
Along with cam gears, a fuel pressure regulator, and something like hondata or a VAFC are a good idea in order to draw the most power out of your cams.
Don't just slap cams in there and expect huge gains. If you don't plan to tune them properly on a dyno with the proper parts, you really shouldn't be getting cams in the first place.
Do it right, or don't do it at all.......
If I were you, I'd get the Skunks, they have been known to produce big #'s
Good Luck with whatever you choose,

You can use the stock valvetrain with any setup.
It's just a question of whether you are going to raise your redline to draw the most power out of the cam setup that you bought.
Revving to the stock 8100 RPM (GSR) with either ITR or Skunk cams is not drawing all the power from them. I would plan on upgrading the valvetrain and ECU if you plan to make some good power.

You really should get an ITR program or something from kenji depending on what else you plan to do, and raise the redline and revlimiter if you get an upgraded valvetrain to get the most out of your cams.

Raising the rev limiter may help, but with stock compression many motors aren't even making power up to redline. Just a thought.

just get the skunk2 stage 1 cams...theyre basically the same as the itr cams, but resale is better on those cams, and the gains in the top end are supposed to be pretty good if your car is tuned right. Also, get cam gears at the same time......If you want even more gains...like how the other guys have said, raise your rev limit, read my signature below. I can help you out w/ the ecu.
thanks

TeamTooQuick is correct about the Skunk2 stage I cams. They are nowhere near similiar. They are considered a mild setup though. I gained anywhere from 15-20whp and 15 -20wtq with these cams over the ITR's in the midrange. Up top i didn't gain any power at all over the stock cams but I didn't tune it for top end power. I wanted mid range for my hobby of road racing. BTW, you must have cam gears, VAFC, and a FPR to tune these for what you want unless you go Hondata or something similiar. Bottom line they are awesome cams for the $. If you can get them so cheap go for it.
