hi,
i got an sir hood and headlights as my Si bonnet wouldnt close with the b16a i just swapped in. Ive put the headlights in and now i cant get my bonnet to close
i even bought the front SiR radiator support as some ppl told me to do...but it does nothing. The hood (spring) doesnt go into the hole in the radiator support. It hits the support about 1cm in front. Ive tried loostening the hinge s and sliding the hood back a lil bit and the latch that bolts the hood to slide it back. Still just misses.

I need help urgently someone pls help

p.s when u buy ure hoods do u get the Spring bracket (bolts to underside of hood)
with it? or do u just use the ones off ure stock hood. Cos i didnt get this and just used my Si one..thinking this MAY have something to do with it

yeah, the reason you need the radiator support is 'cause it has a different hole for the latch thingy on the hood to go into. so it would go to say that using your Si latch thingy won't work in the SiR radiator support.

anyone?? might look into getting some hood pins if this doesnt work out

 

do a search.. you will need to pust the rad support further out.. I used washers.. I tried with both jdm and usdm rad supports.. they all need to be pushed out to mate. be creative... some used bolts...

I had the same problem last night when i was trying to but my radiator support in, (the person I bought the car from didn't have one in there and only had a hood pin to hold it down) but anyway I had to pull the support out some with a my hands and a hammer around the latch partand hole for the spring, it took some trial and error but it latched, and held, and didn't come up until I pull the hood lever.

 

yer i guess iw as scared of ******* it up
but will definately try that **** tomorrow. i spose i have two radiator supports so even if i fucuk up one it aint gonna hurt

I was scared at one point where it bent too far, but it bent right back and didn't mess up anything.
