Default Why are there 2 different kinds of SiR emblems?

I'm always seeing both of these different kinds. Which one is the real thing?

Also, what's your opinion of puting one of these on the back of a B16 CRX on the rear right corner of the hatch (like the JDM one)?

the one that has the Si in red and R in grey its the real SiR
the other its just a APC version taken idea off the 99-00 Si's unless theres SiR on 99-00 on Japan with that emblem...
and no... as long as u have a B16 in ur EF and have that SiR sticker on the back i will not flame.. u got something to back it up with... but still its not a SiR OEM....

Canada has Civic Si-Rs but they are the same as the US Sis. So thats probably where the design came from.

Yeah, I somewhat agree with not puting it on if it isn't the real thing. So, is this correct?:

The one with the grey R is from the JDM CRX

The slanted all red one is from the 99-00 Canadian Civic SiR

sounds about right, I have the all red one on my crx, came with the car, if it were me I would have shaved the emblem and left it off, but the guy who owned the car before me used the SIR emblem to cover up the shitty job he did of removing the HF emblem.
U should go sleeper T~rex.

The straight red & grey logo would be the proper one for a CRX SiR. The other italic red & white sticker shown there is actually an APC knockoff - I can tell by the way it's cut. It's a close replica of the JDM EK4 Civic SiR sticker - it's not from the '99-00 Canadian SiR. The Canadian SiR has a silver plastic emblem, not a sticker.

I have an b18c jdm type are in my crx and have no stickers on my car people ask after racing me what kinda mods and I say exhaust intake and header. Then sometimes they ask you to pull over and show them what you got. I lift the hood and they see the Valve cover and understand most of the time some are pretty dumb though

the SIR symbol with the gray "R" is the jdm one. the real deal. the other one is a fake knockoff.

Sorry but the EDM CRX's with b16a1's oem are called VT's.

I live in the UK were we can get JDM cars imported without too much hassle so
I have an imported JDM SiR & as ppl have said mine has a red Si & grey R just like the one in the pic.

I dont understand why ppl have to say they have a SiR, Type R or whateva unless they do why not be proud that you've put I motor in a car that shouldnt be there!

I'm about to put a JDM ITR motor (inc JUN stage 3's ) in my CRX but I have no plans to put a Type R badge anywere near it! Now a JUN sticker or two that another story

my husband has red OEM "h" badges on his r-swapped EK, and dohc vtec stickers on the sides, but it doesn't say "Civic Type R" anywhere, 'cause it's not a Civic Type R. it's not really a CX anymore either, so he doesn't run that badge either. i think the red "h" emblems are a nice touch and they fit based on what now constitutes the heart and soul of the car.

on another note though, do what you want to your car. if you want to run a fake ek4 badge on your EF, or EG then do it. it's your car, and if you think it looks good, then that's all that matters.

the red/grey one is 4gen civics. the other is 6gen civics. 5gen civic sir gets a sticker, so you dont see emblems made.

were there different si-r logos for the rex versus teh hatch?
yes there is a difference. the crx one is smaller then the hatch one, since the crx only has a small corner to place the sticker. even more, i think that the 4gen emblems might have been differnt shades of red/grey, depending on car color. i know the Si emblem here is grey on red hatchs, while white/green/black hatchs get a red emblem.

and screw what anyone says. put whatever the hell you want on your car. if you like it, more power to you. i got an EF front end and my car ain't no EF. when i had a LS, i had honda emblems on that and it wasn't no X-Si.

Personaly it depends on the person and how they view life. If you date a girl/boy based on what your friends think, then your conforming to what others want. Same applies to your car. You are in control of your inturpetation of what you like.Don't let others dictate what you should do ,be yourself and they will except you for you, or not.But atleast your being true to your beliefs, and not just trying to conform to the masses! i say long live individuality, and all comformers can kiss my ***!
