Every week my ITR shuts down.
Just got my 2001 ITR the other day and it cut off on me 3 times so far. I have AEM CAI, DC 4-1, and GReddy EVO. For no reason at all, the car just dies. No codes or nothing. Took it to Acura and they have no idea what happened and why. Happened 2 more times after that, and instead of getting it towed I just tried to get it started my self. Turn the key to 3 times in a row and tried to start it while giving it gas. It was struggling, finally started and dies again. Tried again, and get the RPM's up on my own. Drove it to the gas station, waited 5 minutes and started it again, no problem. Acura wants to keep my car until it does it again, but I don't think they are smart enough to figure it out.
The first time I took it to them they noticed there was water droplets on the bottom of the spark plug wires grounding out spark. The day before Honda just cleaned my engine, so needless to say they out the water there. They dried them and said I should be fine. Are my plugs bad or something?
I am purchasing an A/F gauge and Volt meter tomorrow to see where I stand. I noticed my car smelled a little lean when I was running it sometimes. If I see its lean I will buy a fuel pump, FPR, fuel rail, and fuel pressure gauge.
Has this or is this happening to anyone else? Please help. Thanks

I don't think your car is running lean enough to make it just shut down.
I would say don't buy any more mods before you figure out what the problem is. If not, it may just creat more problem.

How do your spark plugs look? Can you post a pic of them? How does your ignition system look? Bad connections at the map sensor and tps sensor will also cause similar symptoms, so you might give them a check.

yeah, it sounds like maybe your ignitor or something in your distributor is gonig out. they cleaned the engine bay, and should probably take responsibility for the problem. it's a 2001 so nothing should be worn out yet.
my car will shut off sometimes 'cause it floods from running too rich, but you don't have any fuel mods, so it shouldn't be that on your car...

I don't know what the plugs look like, I havent taken them out yet. This happens after the car has been warmed up for a long time. The rpm's get real low and then it dies. Water could be in my distributor cap, I will let Acura check and see if my ignitor is bad. Thanks guys.

You say the dealership detailed your engine bay recently? They may have gotten water in the distributor cap.

Yeah, I just talked to my buddy who worked at Baranco Acura and now he works at Honda as a technichian and he said it is probably distributor related. Going to Acura tomorrow (Monday) to get it taken care of. Should be under warranty so its all good. Thanks for all the help and I will let you know how things go.
So I went to Acura Monday and asked them about my problem again. The guy told me that if my ignitor was bad, that my car wouldn't work at all. So in other words, no they aren't going to replace it for free. Could there be some other problem? Could there be water in my harness connectors? Please help me if you can. It is now Tuesday night going on Wednesday, no signs of cut off so maybe it is cured or all the water has dried.

Winterize? What does that mean? It is probably temperature related. Do you think the engine could have something to do with it? Thanks guys for all your help.
