Coupe poll...sorry
Just asking for some research i'm doing...How many coupes out there are still running SOHC engines? Are you planning on going DOHC? Now this is just for COUPES, no hatchies, or whatnot...and please no this eng vs. that eng. I know that coupes are porky at times, and wanted to find out how many are happy with a SOHC in a somewhat heavy car, if you want to add info on your set up, fine, but no pissing contests, if you add your info though, please add your overall goal with it i.e. drag, autox, daily driver, etc...thanks
sohc turbo coupe
Goals are for a daily driver(meaning full interior with a/c and power steering) that can hold its own on the auto-x and even the 1/4 mile. Not looking for a speed demon here just a car that accelerates quicker, brakes better, and handles like its on rails.

I'm only SOHC becuase I can't afford not to be. Of course, this is not to say that SOHC is better/worse...I simply would prefer a DOHC engine. (My 2cents.)

Ive got a 99 coupe. I have had it since april of 2002, it wasnt that bad driving it around for a while, but then when i lowered it, and put intake and exhuast, everyone all of sudden wants to race you. That is when i realized how slow it really was, so now im waiting for my h22 to come from HMO hopefully beginning of next week. Hope this was what you are looking for.
I have a coupe.
It has power windows/locks, sunroof, etc.

I have had two coupes. A 93 and a 94. The 93 EX went thru 3 motors The stock D16Z6 then a Sohc ZC VTEC and then a B16 with Cable s1 tranny and then it was stolen. My next coupe was a 94 EX with the stock motor. For everyday driving and some spirited driving the stock D16Z is ok. But for racing it is slow. You have do some modding or just slap on a turbo kit.

I've got I/H/E on my SOHC, but the bitch is still ridiculously slow, so I'm thinking H22
when I ever get the money for it

i was going to go turbo sohc but my fren gave me a call and asked if i was interested in buying his b18b. i payed 900 for the motor and about 350 in misc parts like mounts, clutch, and cam seals. freind is willling to swap mine in for about 250 bucks. so overall i gotta swap for under 2000 jsut have to be patient now and wait till the end of the month to have the bitch in and cant wait for march 1rst at etown opening day of the track
A pic of my "soon to be someone elses" 95 EX.
To answer your question. I was building it as a multi purpose drag, AutoX, fun daily driver. I have since lost interest...
