Would changing final drive void warranty? Would the dealer even know???
Alright, i found out how much it is....but i'm trying to see if the dealer would know. I'm thinking, NO.
they might if they have to do any test involving monitoring the vehicle speed sensor (dunno)
Well depends on what you mean by void warranty. Anything can go wrong with your car and as long as its not linked to the final drive... then you are covered. If your tranny blows and you have "honea/acura" fix it, they will see that its not "stock" and you will have to fork of the $$$$.xx
basically, everything that py1091 said is correct. except that the FD is installed in the rear differential and not in the tranny.
in all seriousness though, even if you were to blow-up your tranny, i dont think that the dealer would be able to tell that you have an upgraded final drive. they may give you some **** about abusing your car and may try to make you pay for the repairs. if that happens, then you can simply ask to meet with the district service manager and more than likely he will approve your repairs. try not to admit that you have an aftermarket final drive unless they tell you that they noticed it. FYI; even after your warranty expires, honda dealers can still perform repairs on cars and get the repairs covered under warranty. we often do these repairs for customers that always service their cars at our dealership or if it is considered an unreasonable component failure. HTH.

However, the warranty excludes coverage for any problems that are caused by the aftermarket parts.
yes, you are exactly right.... i've been to the dealer three times already asking what i can and cant get.... the answer is, anything i want.. but the warranty wont cover the aftermarket part's effects
