salvage title?
If I'm not mistaking the title is not an issue unless you have to take it to the highway patrol and they have to check over everything that was stolen, and check for receipts, to make sure you replaced it with bought parts, not stolen one...

I've never owned anything but salvage cars (literally every car I've ever owned) and I've never run in to any snags except not being able to trade a car in at the dealer. Dealers won't take them because they can't sell them for much. Also, your resale will be lower, but you'll also be paying much less for it.
You only will need to have it inspected if it isn't titled yet. If it has a salvage title, that should mean it has already been inspected and retitled as a salvaged rebuild.

I had a salvage title 2000 EX that was salvaged because of theft. The entire car was stolen for the stereo system and the car was dumped. The front end got smashed a little bit but that was it. There are some insurance companies that will not insure a car that is salvaged title. I know I tried Geico and they said they would not do it. I don't know if it was just the agent I spoke with or what. Also if you are trying to finance the car, some banks will not loan on a salvage title and my bank would only give me low blue book on it. They also had to inspect the car before they gave me a loan on it ( basically just look it over and make sure it was in one piece and running). It just depends on what you want to do with the car. It is also a bit harder to sell a salvaged title. I sold my car and definately did not get as much out of it as I could of if it wasn't salvaged title. But I guess I got it alot cheaper too though!!!!
