Default How much should I offer?

Ok, one of my fraternity brothers has a 93 or 94 ninja 500 just sitting around It was in an accident, but he has all the parts to fix the missing front faring (sp?). It has not been ridden in quite some time and Im not even sure if it runs at all. He had it tuned up but was still having problems with it dying.

I was thinking of offering him something for it so I could fix it up. It would be a good first bike, and if I decided riding wasnt for me I could fix it and sell it and make a bit of money.

They run about 1500-2500 used dont they? Depending on mileage. Im thinking of offering him 250 cash in hand.

what do you mean by "it dying"? Will it just be running on the road, then suddenly turn off? If so, I don't think it would be such a great idea... a beginner on a bike that sporadically turns off?

are you a mechanic? I'd take it up if I had time and idle hands... go for it if you do your own work regularly

I offered 500 and he said he would think about it. I always do my own work and ths would give me something to work on where I wouldnt fee lquite as bad if I messed something up.

You going to buy a motorcycle huh Robert? Did you ever get your Civic to pass emission? Did Tim ever get a downpipe?

I should have the Saab running soon. I bought another Saab as a parts car.

Well...

Might by the bike, probably not in the works though.

Car is still chilling. Many parts in the mail. (Finally got money last Friday)

Tim has his downpipe but no o2 sensor.

We tried coming by the shoip 2 weeks back but no one was there. How is the car coming?

Carbs are probably just filthy. If you get it, pull the carbs and clean them completely. I had an old ninja that had the same problem and that fixed it.

Well the kid quit our fraternity so they may put the bike out to pasture, so the school people will tow it. Id rather have it than that happen but I really cant take unless he sells it to me. We will see what hppens. I could also use a new 27" flatscreen so only time will tell.

The car is coming along pretty well. Did you come by on a Sat? We should of been here. Maybe we went to lunch or something. Unveilling is the first Thursday back after spring break. Things are looking good. I still have to see your civic after you get up and running well again. I haven't seen it in a while since you did the suspension or CF hood. Oh, I got some swaybars for the civic. 22mm front and rear. The car is definitely more neutral through the turns with a hint of *** out. The civic should get gutted soon, once I get the Saab running. Anyways, I'll catch ya later.
