My boy Alamar is running that setup and it runs strong as hell. He is giving type r's a bit of a hard time. I don't remember his email address, but his name is milanoredgsr. I personally think it's much stronger than the stock gsr internals because I have driven his car and I had my own gsr and I noticed the difference. I would recommend ctr pistons though, because that would have bigger gains and more noticeable gains.

i've seen LS blocks with oversized CTR pistons with SkunkII stage 2 cams with fully built head put down 210 whp...

That setup is supposed to be about 10.8:1 compression ratio, according to
http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/c...c/compcalc.php.

SILINITY16, go back check your selections on c-speed.... the CTR pistonin an unmodded GSR engine will be a hair above 12:1 if not more in a GSR, and with GSR or ITR rods you do NOT need to mod the rods for CTR pistons.

You could hit 13.5's in a civic with bolt ons.

Ok owen_the_soyboy, I was only giving him the numbers he asked for. Read the post just before the one I posted. He wanted the CR for a gsr with ITR pistons, not CTR pistons. I know the compression that the CTR pistons would yield, but that's not what he asked for. The CR for a gsr with ITR pistons is about 10.8:1, which is what he asked for.

I've heard USDM B16 pistons yield higher compression than ITR ones, is this true?

That is true. They yield about 11.3:1 CR.

I couldn't tell you that because I simply don't know. My friend didn't get his dynoed yet. Hopefully someone else has this setup and can post some numbers because I some would like to see what power gains were made.

compression should be around 11.1 to 11.5 (approx....depending on head work)...good for at least 170 whp with bolt ons....

I'm assuming that you already have I/H/E so I would go for some Skunk2 Stage 1 Cams and a pair of cam gears. Valve Train is not required to do this but is recommended but you will be spending more money. Nipponpower.com has this setup for pretty cheap. Just my opinion.

You won't know the answer until you crack open your block, to see if you can run STD or OS piston size.
