Ticking out my lude
Hello everyone.
New to this site as well as the Import scene. My friend said this was the site to use for info. Anyway, here's the scope. I'm in the process of starting the research to make my 1995 vtec prelude a fast, fast car, but still drive it everyday. As for now it just has the cold air, cam gears, racing pullys and the v-tech controller. I wanted to know what everyone feels would work to make this as fast as I can, trying not to use NOS. I can do alot of the work myself, and I also install most of the parts on my own. What does everyone feel like is the best combo involving engine parts, turbo, etc. Also, if anyone has any links for prelude parts it would be much appreciated. I have noticed that most of the parts on the lude all have to be custom made, ie cage, traction bars, etc. Thanks for the info!!

Hmm.. depends on your definition of 'fast fast' I suppose.
You're lucky you have the lighter 4th gen, that's a good start. With some extensive all-motor work you should be able to see 13's but anything faster would be very difficult, IMO. This means cams, internals (possibly with block sleeving), headwork, tuning, etc.. aka lots and lots of american dollars.
I do not know much about FI on the H series but all things I have heard indicate that it is an all or nothing affair, because the stock engine can't handle boost and the cylinders must be resleeved to handle aftermarket pistons (something I'm not sure if I understand but I've heard it several times). However this would let you bore it out to a 2.3 or 2.4, giving you that much more of a bump in the never-ending quest for torque.
I'm sure some people who are more knowledgable about Preludes will chime in sooner or later. Everyone else will tell you to search.

what about your suspension and tranny ? it will be in vain to put your atention on parts that make power when you can't put that power on the ground
