Having some grounding issues I believe and hoping someone out there has had experience or knows where I should start.

Symptoms:

- Interior lights and exterior lights fad in and out.
- Battery light on gauge cluster flickers at times.
- SRS light on gauge cluster flickers at times.

From what the dealer and I figured there is a ground loose somewhere. My problem is tracing it down. Dealer won't touch it because of my "aftermarket alarm." And the alarm company that did the install is in Chicago.

My question is does anyone know where the ground wires for the battery and SRS lights in the gauge cluster are? What about for all the interior and/or exterior lights?

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

 

Well, you may wanna just try taking off that bottom panel beneath your steering column and looking for loose wires, that's ussualy where most installers wire up alarms, depending on what type you have of course. Any way, you may also want to try going to a different dealer, just try a couple of others, one may or may not help you, but it's worth the drive, especially if it requires taking off your dash, or replacing part of your harness. Also, check your ELD, that might be giving you some problems as well.
