Well I need to know if the integra's with the j1 and s1 tranies had electronic vss or if it was mechanical, cause i just got the gsr cluster in my car(almost complete) and i'mordering my swap this weekend with the j1 or s1 tranny so i don't want to go out and buy the electronic vss, if i'm already goign to get it. Thanks so much guys. oh yeah, if it doesn't come with it, what is the going rate for an electronic vss?

 

both of those trannys are cable opperated and both the s1 and the j1 are mechanical speed sensor .... the only diff in the j1 and s1 is there is a 2 tooth difference on the final drive. i have a j1 in my 89 hatch.

 

I dont really think it matters on what vss it is. You can run electronic or mechanical. both fit right in my Y1. i had a electronic but i switched to mechanical. I think it matter on the cluster, not the tranny. correct me if i am wrong.

 

I got a electronic vss with my jdm S1 and switched over to a mechanical unit. On cable driven speedo's, the speed sensor is in the gauge cluster.

no idea, but if theres a good price given maybe ill part with my electronic one.

 

but you are running a gsr cluster, which I uses an electronic VSS. I'm pretty sure that the y1/j1/s1 trannies all used eletronic vss's too. I'd wait until it got here before you go buying anything. You should be fine with what you got.
